PASS

PASSES AVAILABLE TO ATTEND EVENT:

  • Firsts Early Bird 50 Full pass (party, workshops and option for competitions) (SOLD OUT)
  • Next Regular 100 Full Pass (party, workshops and option for competitions) 149 euro
  • Next Late Full Pass (party, workshops and option for competitions) 169 euro

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment must be done within 10 days from the registration date; after this limit will be applied the current prices.
Bank transfer costs, paypal commission or other administrative costs will be at your charge.
For whom is payng from different currency than EURO we discurage the bank transfer payment (fees of 14 euros will be at your charge!) and strongly recommend to use PayPal (fees of 5%) or a really cheap and smart system TransferWise (go to site) that will let you pay with credit card or a local-to-local wire transfer.

EXCEPTIONS

For our young friends under 16 years old we are glad to offer a 50% reduct price, please register and write this code 2UY95F in the last confirmation.
For All-Star dancers the pass cost is 50 euro, please register and select “All-Star Pass”.

If you have a group of at least 5 couple (10 person balanced) please email us to wcsitaly@gmail.com to get your group discont.

REFOUND POLICY

Cancellations within 15 days of received payment will be refund with the 90% of the amount; 10% is held for administartive costs. After 15 days from received payment will be refund the 50% of the amount. No refund for cancellations for registrations before and after 15th september 2017.

(3) If you have your own team show please contact us if you want propose your show. It’s not a team competition.

L2: You know the basics of West Coast Swing, but you still don’t feel confident when social dancing. In addition to improve your basics, you want to learn the West Coast Swing fundamentals and to be able to dance with any partner.

L3: You are not afraid of any tempos. You can social dance with partner of different levels (beginner to advanced) without any problem. Your interest is in trying to find your own style, as well as to start being more musical, not only using the beat of the music, but every of its accents; You want to learn new variations, as well as new moves.

L4: West Coast Swing is your dance. You breath connection, your lifeblood is stretch. You have developed your own style, as well as incorporate to the dance your own footworks and variations. Your interest is in getting to know the style of the teachers so that you can further improve your own style, and get inspiration for your own creations.
To attend this level you need to have WSDC points as intermediate or advanced.

Room in the hotel venue cost 79 euro for single, double or twins per night.
Price includes breakfast, parking and free Wifi, doesn’t include city tax of 2 euro per person per night.

NOTE: In the Grand  Hotel Barone Sassj are available only  double or twins rooms,  children till 11 years old are allowed to sleep with parents in the big double bed. Other types of rooms like single, triple, quadruple are available only in other close hotels.

Hotel is located in the center of Sesto San Giovanni, a small and beautiful city rich of services, you can find many restaurants/pizzeria very close to the venue, and at only 20mt you can find ESSELUNGA mall with all products you need and high quality food.

You can book Barone Sassj hotel during event registration or register to the event and then book hotel later when you are ready. You will receive two different e-mails , one e-mail for event confirmation and one for the hotel booking confirmation.
Only one person should take initiative to book the hotel, for him/herself and the other roommate

In door restaurant provides meals “a la carte” or a buffet.
Lunch and dinner provided with the buffet formula “all you can eat” and 1 bottle of water included, costs 18.00 euros.

COMPETITION

Italian Open is a WSDC registered event.

Competition registrations will be held on the spot. A BID number will be assigned to you when you will register on the site. You will use this number in all the competions you will attend in this event. In this section you will find the complete list of all the attendees at this event and the live competions result (prelims, semi and finals).

ITALIAN OPEN DIVISION LIST

  • JnJ NewComer, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, AllStars, Sophisticated
  • Strictly Novice, Intermediate, Open
  • Classic, Showcase

CATEGORIES

Jack’n’Jill

  1. 100% West Coast Swing
  2. Improvisation, based on the Lead / Follow.
  3. No acrobatics where the partner is supported in the air.
  4. The “fallen” are permitted.
  5. Separations of the dancers are allowed for up to 8 times
  6. The music will be selected by the organizer and the DJ before and will not be disclosed to the dancers.
  7. Black pants for boys (except cons noted) with shirt, vest, suit or elegant. Elegant outfit for girls.
  8. Partner will be assigned randomly in prelims and semifinals, in final afther the first random assignement the couple will be definitive.
  9. In the sophisticated categorie competitors must be 35 years old or older.

Strictly

  1. 100% West Coast Swing
  2. Improvisation, based on the Lead / Follow.
  3. No acrobatics where the partner is supported in the air.
  4. The “fallen” are permitted.
  5. Separations of the dancers are allowed for up to 8 times
  6. The music will be selected by the organizer and the DJ before and will not be disclosed to the dancers.
  7. Clothes associated with partner are encouraged.

Classic

  1. Minimum 80% West Coast Swing
  2. Not allowed acrobatics where the partner is supported in the air.
  3. 5 only movements of the support are allowed partner
  4. Tombés, circular motions are allowed as long as both poiur dancers maintain at least one foot on the ground.
  5. A separate choreography input is permitted provided that the dancers show a front contact a up to 32 times
  6. Couples must maintain physical contact except turns, spins, short separations and error catching.
  7. Separation is permitted (maximum time).
  8. Competitors choose their own music to provide to head DJ during the floor trial in Audio CD or MP3 format.
  9. Dance Costumes are mandatory.
  10. A minimum of 5 participants couples are required for the competition, if the limit won’t be reached, the routine will be performed immediately before Pro-Show presentation, in this case won’t be assigned awards.
  11. It’s required the partecipation on the floor trial to sort the order of shows and get lasts competition informations.

Showcase

  1. 60% West Coast Swing minimum.
  2. A minimum of 3 acrobatics required (all stunts must be above the knee, at least a stunt completely above the waist).
  3. There is no limit to the number of acrobatics.
  4. The “fallen” are allowed but not required.
  5. Side by side movements are allowed.
  6. The choreography length bust be between 2 and 3 minutes.
  7. Competitors choose their own music to provide to head DJ during the floor trial in Audio CD or MP3 format.
  8. Dance Costumes are mandatory.
  9. A minimum of 5 participants couples are required for the competition, if the limit won’t be reached, the routine will be performed immediately before Pro-Show presentation, in this case won’t be assigned awards.
  10. It’s required the partecipation on the floor trial to sort the order of shows and get lasts competition informations.

RULES

Division restrictions

A competitor may enter both Classic and Showcase (with different partners).
A competitor can take part at only one Strictly division.
A competitor can take part at only one J’n’J division.
A competitor dancing in JnJ intermediate or upper won’t be able to take part at the Strictly Novice.
A competitor dancing in JnJ Novice will be able to take part at the Strictly Intermediate or Open, only if the partner has danced in JnJ intermediate or upper.
A competitor dancing in JnJ Intermediate will be able to take part at the Strictly Open, only if the partner has danced in JnJ Advance or upper.
Classic and/or Showcase competitors will be able to dance one Strictly division, but always with different partners.

Judging criteria

Here the base criteria that the judges evaluates:

  • Timing
  • Teamwork
  • Technique
  • Choreography
  • Presentation

NOTE: in all Jack&Jill prelims and semifinals, judges splits for leaders and followers and evaluate individual performance, in final they evaluate also the couple work

Important things

Here is some different information about the competitions.
a. Perfomance attire is required for Showcase, Classic
b. Dressy dance attire is required for J’nJ finals
c. Routine competitors : submit your ONE-track CD to the music responsible person as soon as you arrived at ITALIAN OPEN.
d. In Classic & Showcase, perfomances must be a minimum of 2 minutes and a maximum of 3 minutes.
